Why should I use Stock Photo Xposure?

All of the images on our site are completely free, so you don't need to worry about credit cards, purchase orders or royalty payments. That means faster workflow for you... Need to meet an urgent deadline? Use images from StockPhotoX and the project can go live straight away.

Can I use the images in print / online / wherever?

Yes - when a user uploads an image they agree to its free use on any medium (in print, online, on TV, etc.) under the Creative Commons Attribution license. However, where an image contains recognisable human faces you should check if the image has a model release.

Are there ANY restrictions?

Basically, no porn, no hate, no use of a person to endorse a product, no use of images in a way that could give person(s) depicted in the image a bad name and strictly no selling, redistribution, giving away or otherwise sharing of images.

Can I use the images for comps / mock-ups?

Yes - and you can use the high-res, non-watermarked originals for that too. So there's no need to recreate your artwork with different source images when the client approves your designs. Productivity improves, workflow is simplified. It's the way we've always wanted to work - we hope you'll like it too.

How can I be sure the images are legal for me to use?

Users are instructed to only upload images they have taken themselves and are not subject to anyone else's copyright. When a user uploads an image to this site they assign it the Creative Commons Attribution license.

You should be aware that the license contains a disclaimer of warranties, so there is no assurance whatsoever that the licensor has all the necessary rights to permit reuse of the licensed work. The disclaimer means that the licensor is not guaranteeing anything about the work, including that he/she owns the copyright to it, or that he/she has cleared any uses of third-party content that his/her work may be based on or incorporate.
